Going to school in the UK the definitive pencil has to be the Staedtler Noris.
Kind of nostalgic blast from the past! I remember my scool days writing homework… Writing and erasing! And that smell during sharpening. Sometimes graphite was all broken inside😁
I only use mechanical pencils all the time. But now i think i will get a good wooden pencil to try again 😃
I'm a pencil collector and will look for this one. I like to buy mine while on vacation so the search is part of the fun. My favorite place to look so far has been Portugal where they seem to be mad about pencils (and poets!)!
I'm going to get a box of these! I wonder how they behave on Rite in the Rain paper?
I have at least one fibre-tip pen made by them, with the same body and corner style , although fawn and black, from memory.
Also, did you manage to get a Blackwing XIX, celebratiing the 19th Amendment? They are purple, one of the suffragette colours.
Had a few rectangular tan erasers that were great on a drafting table. They would literally roll the graphite dust off the paper.

A quick internet search seems to indicate these pencils are not readily available in office supply type stores. I also searched the art supply business Dick Blick with no luck.
Can’t wait!
