There are indeed regions of the universe that are receding from us faster than the speed of light and consequently we can't observe them. They lie beyond what's called the "cosmological horizon." Also, the universe isn't "expanding into" anything.

One thing to remember about offworld microbes is that the bodies in our solar system are not actually isolated. Various processes (impacts, volcanism) eject mass. Constant and on-going matter exchange between the bodies of the solar system means that if any microbial life on Mars could survive the radiation environment on Mars (which is similar to the interplanetary environment) and survive on Earth than it's almost certainly already here.

Besides, the logic of "there's a small chance of something bad happening and no amount of reasonable precaution is 100% certain…so let's never go outside, hide in a corner, and await a slow death by starvation" makes as little sense IMO at the species level as it does at the individual level.

  4. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars wade says:

Fran, ridicule is something we learn as children. If we want to be one of the "cool kids" we must ridicule anything that challenges the paradigm. A few people evolve past this, many….MANY don't.
Your credibility is just fine. Perfectly secure.

And thank you from the bottom of my heart for creating this channel, and for not being afraid of the dark, like so many others are.

I remember that TV test pattern from WAY back in the day when it was actually used. Years later at work, I had it set up as my screensaver and it got a lot of comments. On a related note, I once thought it would be fun to hang a framed picture on the wall with only big letters saying, "WE HAVE TEMPORARILY LOST OUR PICTURE. PLEASE STAND BY". But I never did it. Many years later, of course, at least one person was selling exactly that commercially.

Klaus Nomi and Pere Ubu, saw them in DC in the early 80s

My only predisposition is that there are a lot of people who report seeing something which makes it worth looking into. I envy people who've seen UAP's – I'd love to see one myself. I imagine it's fairly puzzling experience in the moment. What are they? I'd like to know myself – let's find out!

Mars virus – Read Michael Crichton's "The Andromeda Strain". Read the book, the movie is pretty weak. Michael was an MD and consulted with NASA on the design of the LRL.
